What a great October, will be hard to follow, especially given this little bonus on the last day.
Sailed at Hove from 11 til 1:30pm on the dropping tide, with cross off winds. There's usually only 1 or 2 of us around so it was a pleasant surprise to find it almost busy with 4 or 5 familiar Shoreham faces.
I stuck with a 5.5m ezzy on RWW83 throughout. For me a good combo giving fast planing and extra power for the inside zone. Bit of a handful out back, but never unbearable. Ive not sailed Hove that offshore with a regular swell as well, loved it! A lot of knee/waist/chest high rides. Required a bit of hard work with legs and arms to keep it heading down the line on the inside. The best waves connected up from section to section with a longer downwind arc rather than a bottom turn. Linking little snap backs was a pleasure with the cross-off wind.
It was sunny throughout so I'm giving it 5 stars.
